COFFEE HUNTERS STORY

Geisha cultivar that became famous due to its unique, floral aroma, it was cultivated in Kotowa Estate at the highest elevation ever for its kind and used the laborious natural process to increase its unique characteristics. This Geisha is a gem of a coffee. Geisha cultivar originally came from Ethiopia. It is a difficult coffee cultivar, growing very slowly and with less flowering when the environment is not ideal which often disappoints producers. The Geisha cultivar prospers in higher precipitation environments compared to other cultivars. When cultivated in an environment with less wind, it produces an outstanding flavor. Two types of Geisha cultivar exist, one with bronze and one with green young leaves. The cultivar having bronze young leaves is suitable for a natural (unwashed) process. This coffee called “Geisha Natural” was harvested exclusively from the bronze cultivar, leisurely dried naturally under the sun by leaving the red cherries surrounding the coffee beans. This special coffee accounts for only 0.2% of the total production volume of the entire Kotowa farm.

It is wrapped in a veil of purple and red, such as cherry, blackberry and raspberry, with a rich sweetness reminiscent of dried fruits, and a brilliant citrus acidity. With an elegant mellowness and astringency similar to black tea, a variety of flavors bloom one after another. A sweet, complex, and strong scent naturally attracts even with your eyes closed. The sweet, fruity flavor is reminiscent of dragon fruit, orange, grapefruit with the overflowing honey of luxury flowers following. Every sip provides a new nuance of flavors that are hard to miss through its aftertaste on the palate.
